A Tsunami of Letters: ESG & Regulatory Compliance
With new policy, legislation, and regulation demanding more sustainable infrastructure going forward, data center operators must now face the (often-daunting) task of complying with sustainability reporting requirements. Amid the ever-growing importance of environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) standards and the adoption of new regulations, such as the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Energy Efficiency Directive (EED), small data center operators in particular need to pay full attention to compliance. This segment will address what you need to do to prepare going forward.
Guests include:
Stefan Frenzel – Managing Director, DME
Diederik Samsom – Former Chief of Staff, European Commission on Climate Action
Transforming Heat into Value
Data centers can be at the forefront of sustainable innovation through waste heat reuse: using the excess heat generated by servers into a valuable resource for nearby communities and industries. By doing so, data centers not only mitigate their environmental impact but also contribute positively to local energy ecosystems. What are the trends, specific challenges and, above all, opportunities for all involved?
Guests:
Thomas Parker – Co-founder, WA3RM
Svante Horn – CEO & Co-Founder, Scandinavian Data Centers

Efficient and space-saving cooling for high-density colocation
The trend towards increasing requirements for high-density racks and data centers is unstoppable. It is no longer rare to see 20+kW per rack, and liquid cooling is becoming irreplaceable for AI clusters with heat loads of up to 100kW and more. However, innovative unit design can help air cooling solutions close the gap of up to 50 kW and also be an ideal complement in hybrid systems. We'll show you how and why CoolWall is an excellent solution for the age of high heat loads.

Enabling a Circular Data Centre
As the challenges of e-waste and unsustainable resource consumption intensify, the adoption of circular economy principles offers a viable pathway for IT organizations to mitigate environmental impacts while simultaneously enhancing their operational efficiency and improving the bottom line. The emerging circular economy seeks to keep IT assets in use for as long as possible, extract the maximum value from them during use, and recover materials at the end of their service life. For data centre managers, this means securely repurposing, refurbishing, reselling, and recycling assets to minimise waste and resource consumption. Fortunately, there are many ways to make data centre circularity manageable and even a source of financial benefit. In this session, learn basic principles on how best to maximise the value of your data centre assets, achieve optimal sustainability benefits, and ensure the security of your organisation’s data by incorporating circular practices throughout the IT asset supply chain.
What are the Mission-Critical Areas to Consider for Getting AI Right?

How To Optimize Data Centres For Heat Reuse & Decarbonization?
Join David & Stefan at their joint presentation if you would like to obtain a better understanding on how to optimize data centre sites for heat reuse & decarbonisation. Both will be more than happy sharing with you all building blocks that make up a sustainable & modern data centre. The two recognised data centre experts will present all these decisive elements in detail, such as liquid cooling (direct-to-chip & immersion cooling), IT dematerialization, incl. circular economy hardware, heat harvesting & reuse etc... In addition, the two former volunteer leaders of the EMEA OCP community will provide insights into the latest innovations & technologies and thus an outlook into the near future of the industry. Therefore do not hesitate for long, just come along and, if possible, actively participate in the subsequent dialogue after the presentation.
Enterprises are continuing to adopt cloud computing and engage in digital transformation. But the leading driver of data center demand over the next year will be AI. We are projecting that for every new standard data center, there are going to be three additional AI data centers offering higher server densities. But that’s not the only way AI will be impacting this expanding industry. Schneider Electric has predicted that AI will enable operators to better manage their assets. Just as software has been automating operations, this year we’ll see AI-driven tools that can provide greater intelligence to utility and backup power control, cooling control, cross-domain operational optimization (digital twins), data center design and construction, maintenance, robotics, and more. In this presentation we will give a guidance to address the challenges of the physical infrastructure category including power, cooling, racks, and software management.
Heat reuse and the importance of every degree
We are all aware of the amount of heat a datacenter rejects and far too often it is not being put to good use. The Nordics are in the forefront of reusing heat but most of the projects that are being shared with the world are about heating homes with district heating. Datacenter heat is considered low temperature grade but there are many ways to utilize it, with or without the use of heat pumps, and the technologies already exists. In this presentation Alfa Laval and WA3RM will show scalable solutions built on proven technology, combining a circular approach with heat transfer expertise. We will show how every degree of heat that is reused can have a significant impact on energy efficiency and sustainability.
